About me
Elisabeth Akel was born and raised in South Florida and discovered her passion for creativity at a young age. Her journey into filmmaking began when she stumbled upon photography in her early adulthood, igniting a desire to pursue a career in the visual arts.
Currently, Elisabeth is pursuing an MFA in Film and Television Production with an emphasis in Directing Fiction at Loyola Marymount University. During her studies, she has written, directed, and produced the short film Power Over Me and produced another titled Sweet and Savory Life.
Through her films, Elisabeth seeks to explore the struggles of navigating a multicultural identity, mental illness, and the overall complexities of the human experience. Ultimately, she invites her audience to develop compassion and see the world through a lens of clarity, with the intention of sparking meaningful conversations and most importantly, bridging human connection.
